The veil has finally been lifted on Nintendo’s next console. The Nintendo Switch 2 is set to hit retail on Thursday, June 5 and will retail for ¥49,980 / $449.99 (USD) / £395 / €469.99. A special bundle featuring Mario Kart World will retail for ¥53,980 / $499.99 / £429 / €509.99. The system will feature a 7.9 inch LCD 1080p screen and support HDR, VRR and 120fps. TV mode will support up to 4K resolution as well as HDR, VRR and framerates up to 120 fps when available.
The mystery behind the “C” button has also been clarified. The button will enable players to chat with friends, share game screens and also connect face-to-face with the Nintendo Switch 2 camera. Called GameChat, this feature will be a part of Nintendo Switch Online, however, it will be free during an “Open Access” period until March 31, 2026.
In addition to the above, the Switch 2 will also support better sound with 3D spatial sound. The system also comes equipped with 256 GB of storage with faster speeds and the ability to expand store with the use of microSD Express Cards.
