Nintendo is sunsetting their points program, My Nintendo Gold Points. Not only this, but their Game Voucher program will not be available for Nintendo Switch 2 releases. The Gold Point system will come to an end on Tuesday, March 25, at 1:30 p.m. Japan Time (March 24, 9:30 PDT). Purchases made after that time will no longer receive the Gold Points. This applies to downloads, physical titles or physical items, such as Nintendo Switch consoles, at Nintendo retail locations. Physical versions of games released before the date will still be eligible to earn points. Gold Points are valid for 12 months after collected. Platinum Points can still be earned after March 25 (March 24).
The Nintendo Switch Game Voucher program will remain in place, but “games exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2 system” are not eligible. This has been confirmed for Japan as well as other regions across the globe. More details will likely be revealed during the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct in early April.
