Nintendo is teaming up with a very unlikely partner to promote Kirby in Japan. Starting in late November, the company is partnering with Heinz Japan to offer Kirby themed packaged ketchup at super markets and drug stores across the country. There are five types and nine package variations in total, differing in size and coming in the pouch type packaging.
In addition to the designs, a special campaign quiz will take place in December via the Heinz Japan X account giving 1,500 fans a chance to win a limited edition fluffy embroidered pouch (pictured above) featuring both Kirby and the iconic Heinz logo. The first round will run from Monday, December 2 until Monday, December 9, while a second round will run from Monday, December 16 until Monday, December 23.
