It’s finally happening. Xenoblade Chronicles X, known in Japan simply as Xenoblade X (Cross), is finally coming to the Nintendo Switch. Dubbed the Definitive Edition, this new version is set to release worldwide on March 20, 2025. The game will be enhanced visually, contain new story elements, include all of the previous DLC that was released on the Wii U version and online play with up to 32 players.
For fans in Japan, this version of the game is based on the slightly enhanced Western version of the game. The game is a 15 GB download and the SKU on the Japanese eShop includes English language options. Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition retails for ¥7,600 / $59.99 USD. You can see the Japanese and English language trailers for the game below.
Xenoblade Chronicles X originally released in Japan during the Golden Week holidays on April 29, 2015 and then later in English speaking territories in December 2015. You can check out my review of the game from the summer of 2015 over on Nintendo World Report here.
