A new feature is in the works for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members and NCL wants fans to help with a test drive. The Nintendo Switch Online: Playtest Program will open for recruitment on Friday, October 11 at midnight (JST) and runs until Tuesday, October 15 at 11:59 p.m. (JST). In order to apply, fans must have an active Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack membership and be at least 18 years old as of October 10, 7:00 a.m. (JST, Oct. 9, 3:00 p.m. PT). The program will only be available for accounts registered in Japan, the United States, the U.K., France, Germany, Italy or Spain.
Participants in Japan will be chosen via a raffle system, while those in other countries will be chosen on a first-come-first-serve basis. The program is expected to accept as many as 10,000 participants. The Playtest will be held from Thursday, October 24 at 10:00 a.m. until Wednesday, November 6 at 9:59 a.m.
Nintendo has remained pretty cryptic with the announcement of the Playtest. The only information that is know is that program is “related to a new feature for the Nintendo Switch Online service offered on the Nintendo Switch.” Additionally, “customers will need to download exclusive software to their own Nintendo Switch system in order to participate.” Be sure to sound off with any theories or ideas below or over in our Discord!
