Alarmo Sales Suspended in Japan, Now Available via Raffle

Fans looking to purchase Nintendo Sound Clock Alarmo in Japan are in for some bad news. Less than 24 hours from being available on the My Nintendo Store online, Nintendo has decided to make the new device available to fans via lottery due to a surge of orders. After a quick look on Twitter/X, one user by the name of Over_Sioux posted a screenshot with Alarmos already sold on Japanese Mercari, one of the most popular online marketplaces, for two to three times the asking price. Alongside the screenshot, Over_Sioux posted, “Too crappy. Don’t buy them!”

After checking Mercari for myself a little over 24 hours after orders opened, sold Alarmos on Mercari were going for upwards of ¥40,000 from scalpers. The suggested retail price is ¥12,980.
I managed to place an order 23 minutes after the device went live on the site. The shipping estimate states that “deliveries will begin on October 11.” I have yet to receive a shipping notice from the normal carrier. As soon as we get on hands on one, expect some impressions and more on Nintendo's foray into the bedroom.
