Nintendo Museum Opens October 2

The Nintendo Museum, a special place for fans discover and experience the history of the Japanese game company in Kyoto, has an official grand opening date. The museum will open on Wednesday, October 2. A special raffle registration period is currently open for October and November. Ticket prices are as follows:
  • Adults (18+): ¥3,300 
  • Youth (12-17): ¥2,200
  • Children (6-11): ¥1,100
  • Preschooler (0-5): Free
The museum will be open weekly, only being closed on Tuesdays and through the New Year's Holidays, December 30 - January 3. If a national holiday falls on a Tuesday, the museum will be open but closed the following Wednesday. The operating hours are between 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.
Nintendo Museum will bring numerous exhibits and interactive experiences to fans. During the Nintendo Museum Direct which aired this morning, Shigeru Miyamoto highlighted a showroom with every Nintendo published game ever released, a look at pre-video game products and more. An interactive space was also shown off. For the purpose of trying out these experiences, Nintendo will distribute play tickets to visitors. These can come pre-loaded with 10 "coins" that can be used to experience the exhibits. There are currently eight exhibits:
  • Shigureden SP
  • Zapper & Scope SP
  • Ultra Machine SP
  • Ultra Hand SP
  • Love Tester SP
  • Game & Watch SP (Ball & Manhole)
  • Nintendo Classics (selection of NES, SNES and N64 games from NSO)
  • Big Controller
In addition to exhibits, the museum also offers a cafe with the ability to customize burgers as well as a shop with exclusive merch.
