Nintendo Drops Creepy Teaser for Emio

Nintendo fans were greeted by a puzzling, creepy video from Nintendo across all regions on social media and YouTube. Running only 15 seconds, the trailer shows a man dressed in a trench coat and collared shirt donning a paper bag. A somewhat unsettling smiling face is drawn on the bag. The video, and game, presumably, is titled Emio, which translates to “smiling man” from Japanese. The description on the video doesn’t appear to provide any additional clues either, only mentioning a hashtag, “#WhoIsEmio.” It’s unclear if this is a Nintendo developed or published game.

The beginning of the Japanese version of the teaser, which runs about five seconds longer, has a warning at the beginning of the video that says, “This video includes expressions that may cause anxiety to the audience. Please be considerate of others when viewing the content.”

Unfortunately since the videos are age restricted, we can’t post them directly in this article. However, you can find links to both the Japanese and English (North America) language trailers below.
