Nintendo has updated the Nintendo Switch Online game library and a total banger has landed on the service in Japan. Four games (compared to three in English speaking territories) have hit the Game Boy app on the Nintendo Switch today, Wednesday, May 15. Below you can find all of the titles released on the service.
- The Frog for Whom the Bell Tolls (Japan exclusive)
- Alleyway
- Super Mario Land
- Baseball
All of the games hitting the service today saw releases on the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console service early in the system’s lifecycle in 2011. The Frog for Whom the Bells Tolls also made it to the digital shelves via the 3DS VC in September 2012. Developed by Intelligent Systems and published by Nintendo, the game is an RPG that sports a similar look to The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening. It still has never been released outside of Japan in any official capacity. You can see the Japanese and North American trailer for all of the games below.
The last update for the Game Boy app on the Switch came in mid-March during a special Mar10 Day video. You can read more about those games here. For a complete look at all of the Game Boy games released on the Nintendo Switch Online service, be sure to check out our hub page here.
