Shiver Entertainment, part of Embracer Group and responsible for Switch ports of Hogwarts Legacy and Mortal Kombat 1, is going to find a new home. Nintendo is currently in the process of acquiring the studio from Embracer. Under the acquisition, Nintendo will make Shiver a wholly owned subsidiary of the company, owning 100% of the outstanding shares. Nintendo aims to “secure high-level resources for porting and developing software titles” and states that “Shiver’s focus will remain the same” after becoming a part of Nintendo, “continuing commissions that port and develop software for multiple platforms including Nintendo Switch.”
NCL projects that the acquisition of Shiver will “have only a minor effect on Nintendo’s results for this fiscal year.”
