Dragon Quest XII Development Still Underway

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) thanking Dragon Quest fans for 38th anniversary wishes, series creator Yuji Horii made a brief comment about the games status and legacy he hopes to continue with the new entry, Dragon Quest XII: Flames of Fate. Horii said, 

“Thank you to the many people who congratulated us on this milestone. I’m sure everyone is worried about Dragon Quest XII right now, but to tell the truth, I was just in a meeting about it. I still can’t provide many details, but I believe that it will be a fitting tribute to the two who passed away. I’ll do my best!”

The two who passed away refer to Akira Toriyama and controversial composer for the series Koichi Sugiyama. Additional details, including target platforms and release window were not revealed.
