Konami has finally spilled the beans on one of their upcoming baseball titles. Powerful Pro Baseball 2024-2025 is set to release on the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 on Thursday, July 18. Standard versions of the game on both platforms will retail for ¥8,470, while the deluxe “Powerful Edition” will go for ¥10,670. As with previous entries, the Switch version will feature Amiibo support and the PS4 version will offer support for both PS4 Pro and PlayStation VR.
Details on the game are still forthcoming, but Konami did give fans a few more tidbits of information for Success and Pennant Modes. We already know that Success Mode puts players 50 years into the future via some kind of time warp, however, Konami revealed that this mode is a revamped version of Success Mode that was found in Power Pros 2010. New characters and events will be implemented to freshen things up.
A few updates to Pennant Mode are also going to implemented into the game. On top of the 12 teams that are currently in Nippon Pro Baseball, 12 classic teams will also be available. All of the teams weren’t mentioned, but players can expect to see the Hankyu Braves, Nankai Hawks and Osaka Kintetsu Buffaloes. 400 former stars in the league will also be available as free agents. Additionally, rule changes, such as the Ohtani Rule (allowing for pitchers to serve as designated hitters) and the “Active Draft” that was implemented in 2022.
Unless something unexpected happens, Power Pros 2024-25 will not feature English support. For more on the game, be sure to check out our preview here or in the video below.
