While expected, Konami gave gamers their first look at the 2024-2025 iteration of Power Pro Baseball on the Switch during the Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase in Japan. Featuring the company’s “baseball game ambassador” Shohei Ohtani, the trailer showcases several different modes. Success Mode will have players travel in time to 50 years in the future. Power Fes will feature numerous characters, including the likes of some Konami classics like Alucard and Goemon. Eikan Nine, giving players control over a high school team, and a Legend Battle Mode, were also revealed.
While not highlighted in the trailer, Powerful Pro Yakyū (Baseball) 2024-2025 will feature the full Nippon Pro Baseball license and release on the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. Konami has released their past few baseball titles on a two year release cycle, however, this is the first time they have clearly indicated such in the games title. No solid release date other than "2024" was provided.
The Power Pro series, like Ohtani, is turning 30 this year. The company’s sister simulation baseball series, Professional Baseball Spirits, is celebrating its 20th anniversary. Expect more information about both series from Konami in the following months. You can see the latest trailer below.
