Nintendo’s silver screen hit has found a streaming home in Japan. The Super Mario Bros. Movie is coming to Amazon Prime in Japan starting on Saturday, December 30. The film has been available on a number of video on demand services in the country via purchase or rental, but this marks the first time that the movie will be available at no additional cost outside of the charge for the streaming service.
An estimated 9.84 million people in Japan saw the Mario Movie since its April 28 release (in Japan) and has accumulated ¥14 billion in revenue. To date, the film has grossed $1.36 billion in global box office revenue.
