Nintendo’s mustached plumbers are coming back to the big screen in Japan. Starting on Friday, October 13 and running for one week until Thursday, October 19, theatergoers will be able to check out The Super Mario Bros. Movie in 4D at participating theaters across Japan. Only theaters that offer 4D will show the film. As an added bonus, a special Super Mario Bros. Plumbing clear file will be given out to those that check out the movie. You can find a complete list of all participating theaters here and see a message from Mamoru Miyano, the Japanese voice actor for Mario, below.
Earlier in the year, 4D versions of the movie almost always were shown with the Japanese dub. That is likely the case here. The Super Mario Bros. Movie originally hit theaters in Japan on April 28 and was followed up by a home release digitally in late August and physically in early September.
