Nintendo’s premier event full of stage shows, tournaments, demos and more is coming back to Tokyo on Saturday, January 20, and Sunday, January 21, 2024. Just as with last year’s Nintendo Live 2022 in Tokyo, the event will be taking place at Tokyo Big Sight. While details are still being worked out about the event, the following are currently confirmed:
- Splatoon 3 World Championship
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe World Championship
- Splatoon 3 - Part Time Team Contest (tournament)
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate - Smash Ball Cup (elementary school and younger)
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate - Smash Ball Cup (general)
- The Legend of Zelda Orchestral Concert
- Splatoon 3 - Deep Cut Concert
On top of the announced tournaments and concerts, live stage shows, game demos, photo spots and merchandise will also be available at the show. Those hoping to attend the event are required to register in advance with a lottery system limiting attendance. Registration for tournaments will begin in October, while general admission registration will start in November. While not specially stated and if Nintendo Live 2022 is any indication, registration will be limited to those with My Nintendo Japan accounts.
Nintendo Live 2023 is happening in Seattle next month. The last Nintendo Live for Japan took place last October with limited attendance of 5,000 people per day. We were at the show and provided extensive coverage of the event. You can see read more about Nintendo Live 2022 here or check out the videos below.
