Pikmin 4 Themed Food, Download Card, GPS Check-In and More Starting July 4

The marketing push for Pikmin is starting to heat up in Japan. Last week, Nintendo revealed that they are teaming up with Japanese convenience store chain Family Mart to deliver an Ichiban Kuji Lottery as well as some other cool merchandise. In a similar vein, the food lineup, drink bottle toppers, folders, a Pikmin themed Nintendo Prepaid card and GPS check-in were also revealed. Below, you can find information on all that will be available in the coming weeks.

Food Lineup | July 4

Four-Fruit Sandwich | ¥398

The official (and ridiculously long) Japanese name for this translates to “Fruit sandwich that was made from four fruit that Pikmin carried.” This treat contains whip cream, tangerine, kiwi, pineapple and yellow peach.

Strawberry Steamed Bread - Hidamari no Mi | ¥158

Known simply as “Hidamari no Mi,” which is the Japanese name for the Sunseed Berry found in Pikmin 2 and 3. This steamed bread contains 100% strawberry puree in the dough. The shape is similar to the item found in the game.

Chocolate Brownie Banana Cream Sandwich | ¥250

This treat is known as the Slapstick Crescent Chocolate Brownie Sandwich, or in Japanese as “Kawasuberu no Choco Brownie Sand(wich).” Pretty self explanatory here, but the sandwich has a chocolate outer layer filled with banana cream.

Folders | From Tuesday, July 11 - 24

Special Pikmin 4 themed folders will be available starting on Tuesday, July 11 at 10:00 a.m. until July 24 (or while supplies last). There are four designs to choose from. The folders themselves are A4 sized (W 310 mm x H 220 mm). You will only be able to pick these up if you purchase one select Hagen Dazs ice cream product. You can see all of the designs below as well as the participating Hagen Dazs items. As an interesting aside, all of the folders line up to make one large, long image.

Bottle Caps Toppers | July 11 - 24

Eight different bottle cap toppers featuring different colored Pikmin starting on July 11 at 10:00 a.m. until July 24 (or while supplies last). These will be included with select drinks. You can see images of the toppers and the eligible drinks below.

Pikmin Special Goods Lottery | July 4 - 24

Family Part app and/or Family Mart Pay users will have the option of entering into a special draw for two prizes. Stamps will be given to those that purchase any of the Pikmin themed food or drink items. Collect three stamps, and you’ll be entered into the drawing. A total of 80 winners will be selected from across Japan via lottery. The prizes are as follows:

A Class - Half Bath Towel (30 winners)

B Class - Long Towel (50 winners)

Pikmin 4 Download Card Campaign

While Pikmin 4 prepaid download cards are available all across the country at a number of different locations, Family Mart is offering something special for fans. If you purchase the card at one of their locations, you will be able to enter into a lottery to win a set of seven Pikmin plushies. The campaign started on June 20 and will run until July 24. Hopefuls will have to apply by July 25 to be entered into the drawing. You can find more info about applying here - in Japanese. 50 randomly drawn winners will be notified in early August.

Pikmin Original Nintendo Prepaid Card | July 4

An exclusive Pikmin themed ¥1,500 Nintendo Prepaid card will go on sale starting Tuesday, July 4 at Family Mart locations across Japan.

GPS Check-In | July 4 - 24

A special digital wallpaper for smartphones will be available via the My Nintendo Japan app GPS Check-in feature. Once checked in at any Family Mart location across the country, you will be prompted for the download. The wallpaper will only be available from Tuesday, July 4 until July 24 and must be downloaded before July 31, 2023.
