Famicom National Quiz Details

Although the Famicom 40th Anniversary celebration kicked off on July 15, details were a bit sparse for the Famicom National Quiz. For those that missed it, the first quiz is set to take place on Sunday, July 30 between 8:00 p.m. to 8:59 p.m. Japan Time. Fans that have a Japanese My Nintendo account will be able to participate and go through 25 questions at any time during this period. Recently, Nintendo has revealed a lot more about the quiz itself. Below, you can find everything that you need to know about it!

Rules & Explanation
The Famicom National Quiz kicks off this month and will continue on monthly to offer a total of 12 quizzes. 25 questions will be featured in each quiz and players will have 30 seconds to answer each of them. Each question is worth 4 points. There will be no point deductions as long as answered within the time limit. The topics will vary, offering multiple choice, questions using sounds, sorting questions and more. Overall, the quiz should take about 10 minutes to complete.
If you are unable to complete the quiz during the specified time period, the quiz will end at the point you reached. Nintendo suggests to make sure that participants are in an area with a consistent internet connection and an area where you are able to hear sound from your device. Unlike the previous Breath of the Wild quiz in April, the Famicom quizzes will only be available in Japanese.

Immediately after you complete the quiz, you will be able to check your score. Additionally, you will also be able to see your correct answers as they relate to genre and release date of the games in question. Not only that, but you will also be assigned a Famicom game character related to your score. The examples shown in the screenshots on NCL’s website include one of the cats from City Connection and a Met/Mettal from Mega Man.
Nationwide Results
Around noon on Monday, July 31, quiz answers and other information will be available. For the answers, explanations for each answer will also be shown. Other tidbits, such as where you place among all of the participants, average score by genre and the average score by age will also be available.
Are you going to attempt the quiz? What do you think of this whole Famicom 40th anniversary campaign? Be sure to sound off below. We’d love to hear from you!
