Originally revealed during the February 2023 Nintendo Direct, the updated version of Baten Kaitos finally has a release date. Baten Kaitos I & II HD Remastered is scheduled to release on the Nintendo Switch on Thursday, September 14 in Japan. Pre-orders opened up for both physical and digital versions of the game today (June 20). A standard edition of the game will retail for ¥5,400 (roughly $38 USD). A special collector’s edition will also be available. Called the Asobi Store Special Edition, this version of the game is exclusive to Bandai Namco’s Asobi Store online in Japan and retails for ¥14,740 (including tax) and comes with the following:
- Physical copy of the game
- Mini Art Book (128 x 182 x 10 mm)
- Card Set (7 cards, 89 x 58 mm)
- Character Board Drawn by Higurashi Nakaba (lead character designer)
- Housing Box for all items (art by Higurashi, H235×W235×T49mm)
Additionally, those that pre-order physical or digital versions of the game will receive a downloadable art book at a later date. Gamers that pre-order the physical version of the game (standard or special edition) from the Asobi Store will receive a special Baten Kaitos Remastered folder and keychain. Orders from Amazon Japan will net gamers a digital wallpaper featuring the game’s key art. You can see images of these below.
