Pac-Man’s time in the world of gaming battle royals is coming to a close. The online component of Pac-Man 99 is scheduled to be shut down on Sunday, October 8, 2023 at 9:00 p.m. PDT. This includes distribution of the game itself as well as free custom themes. The path to discontinuation starts on Tuesday, August 8 at 8:00 a.m. PDT when paid custom themes will be discontinued. A month later on September 8 at 8:00 a.m., the Pac-Man 99 Deluxe Pack and the Pac-Man 99 Mode Unlock will be discontinued.
Despite the closure of the online portion of the game, players will still be able to make use of all purchased DLC, CPU Battles, Blind Time Attack and Score Attack offline. Pac-Man 99 originally released in April 2021 around the globe as an exclusive game for Nintendo Switch Online members.
