There’s already a hearty lineup of food, drinks and other merchandise (via lottery) coming to Japanese convenience store chain Lawson in early May, but Nintendo has seen fit to add a little bit more. Kicking off on Tuesday, May 9 at 7:00 a.m. and running until Monday, May 22 (or until supplies last), a number of folders and microfiber cloths featuring The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom artwork will be available. Not only that, but a special smartphone wallpaper will also be available for My Nintendo account holders. Below, you can see the details on how to get these.
Folders
One of a total of six different clear folders will be available with the purchase of three select snack items. You can select any combination of the items shown below and be able to nab a folder. There are three of each design per store location, for a total of 18 folders per store. Five of the six folders can be combined together for one large design. Stores will limit one folder per location per person. The folders are A4 size (220 x 310 mm).
Microfiber Cloths
One of a total of three designs will be available with the purchase of one Tennen Sui Fiber 8000. Eight of each design will be available at store locations with 24 at each store. As with the folders, Lawson is limiting one cloth per location per person. The cloth is roughly 100 x 100 mm.
My Nintendo Check-in Present
Those that have Japanese My Nintendo accounts alongside the smartphone app will be able to check-in at Lawson locations around the country to receive a special Tears of the Kingdom themed smartphone wallpaper. This will only be available between Tuesday, May 9 and Monday, May 22.
It's not uncommon for Nintendo to team up with convenience stores for special items and/or food. Last September, Nintendo worked with 7-Eleven Japan to produce and sell a number of food and merchandise for the release of Splatoon 3.
