We are one step closer to more Xbox titles coming to the Nintendo Switch on a regular basis. Microsoft Vice Chair and President, Brad Smith, announced on Twitter that the two companies have negotiated and signed a binding 10 year agreement to bring Call of Duty to Nintendo players day and date with Xbox and PlayStation releases. You can read the full statement below:
“Microsoft and Nintendo have now negotiated and signed a binding 10-year legal agreement to bring Call of Duty to Nintendo players - the same day as Xbox, with full feature and content parity - so they can experience Call of Duty just as Xbox and PlayStation gamers enjoy Call of Duty. We are committed to providing long term equal access to Call of Duty to other gaming platforms, bringing more choice to more players and more competition to the gaming market.”
Phil Spencer made similar comments back in December with the only difference being word usage - this time around using “negotiated and signed a binding ten year agreement.” Only time will tell what this means for both companies in the near future, outside of Call of Duty, if anything.
