Square Enix has really been delivering with the games on the Switch in 2022. Not only that, but also for Japan, they have been pumping out some really cool collector’s editions. While most of these haven’t seen a release in the West for some unknown, baffling reason, these are still some cool pieces to try and seek out if you have the means. For Crisis Core - Final Fantasy VII - Reunion, two sets were actually on offer - a Collector’s Edition and a Hero Edition. We got our hands on the Collector’s Edition and are going to show you what’s all here. Let’t take a look.
Just for a bit of background, the Collector’s Edition and Hero Edition for Crisis Core was originally unveiled to public right before the 2022 Tokyo Game Show back in September. It’s available physically for the Switch, PS4 and PS5 (the Xbox and Steam versions are digital only in Japan, even for standard versions of the game.) The Collector’s Edition comes with following items:
- Mini Soundtrack
- Original Art Book - Heroes Past and Present: The Art of Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII Reunion
- Crisis Core Reunion Script Book
- A “Letter” From Aerith
- Steelbook (for discs only)
The Hero Edition comes with all of this plus Zach Flair Soldier 2nd Class Figure from Play Arts. While I thought about throwing down to get this version, it was sold out just days after being announced and it was significantly more expensive. The Collector’s Edition retails for ¥14,000 ($102 USD) and the Hero Edition is ¥32,000 ($234 USD).
That’s probably enough of this. Below, you can find some pictures of the Switch version. Enjoy!
And there you have it. I’m pretty satisfied with this set. I never played the original Crisis Core back in the day, but was so impressed with the demo I played at TGS that I went ahead and picked this one up. But let’s turn things over to you. Were you able to pick up this Collector’s Edition? What do you think about this updated version of Crisis Core? Sound off in the comments down below. We’d love to hear from you!
