Nintendo has launched Missions & Rewards, a new initiative for Nintendo Switch Online users around the globe, today, March 1. This is a new feature located is in the Nintendo Switch Online app on the Switch. Here, NSO users are enticed to complete a variety of system based missions that will earn them Platinum Points. For example, the first four missions that are available starting today ask the following:
- Play a game online | 30 Platinum Points
- Back up your data to the cloud | 20 Platinum Points
- Play Super Mario Bros. in the Famicom/NEW Online app | 50 Platinum Points
- Use the Nintendo Switch Online App on your Switch | 20 Platinum Points
After that, users can go through a number of different “parts” that can be used to create their own unique user icons. The available art contains things like characters and backgrounds at a “cost” 5-10 Platinum Points each. Scrolling over each part lets you see how much longer you have before the item is changed out from the reward area. The icons for the month of March are based on Super Mario Odyssey and Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The available parts will be changed on a regular basis.
