Nintendo Switch owners won’t have to wait much longer for Splatoon 3. Nintendo revealed that the game will be releasing this summer worldwide. Set in a brand new desert based location known as the Splatlands, Splatoon 3 will feature the same tried and true 4 vs. 4 Turf Wars, Salmon Run and more. If you haven’t already, you can check out the new trailer below from the Direct that highlights this new iteration of Salmon Run, titled “Next Wave.” Other details are still a bit sparse at this point, but it’s likely that Nintendo will reveal more information as we get closer to launch.
Splatoon and Splatoon 2 have been very popular in Japan. As of the most recent Famitsu Sales numbers (Jan 24 - 30, 2022), Splatoon 2 has sold over 4 million physical copies in Japan alone. To date, the series has sold over 16 million copies worldwide.
