It was nice to see Star Wars: Republic Commando get a fresh breath of life again on modern platforms with its digital release earlier in 2021. While I was certainly aware of the game back in the day, it was something that I didn’t have a chance to play until now. You can certainly debate about the quality of the game, or even call it a product of its time. Regardless, it really stands as something that’s quite different from other Star Wars titles out there. As with other Star Wars titles bought back to life via Aspyr, Republic Commando got the physical treatment via Limited Run Games with a really cool Collector’s Edition which will be the topic of discussion today. Let’s take a look.
The Set

Republic Commando was first made available through Limited Run back in April 2021. Available for pre-order for roughly a month, two versions were available for the Switch - a standard edition and this collector’s edition. The game was available for purchase on the PS4 and PC as well. But today, we’re focusing on the Switch version. Of course, with this set, you get quite a few extra goodies. Everything is housed in this large box as you can see. Inside are the following:
- The physical Switch case
- A certificate of authenticity from LRG
- A commemorative coin
- A Thermal Detonator Enamel Pin
- A Set of Premium Art Cards
- A reversible 18” x 24” Inch poster (45.72 cm x 60.96 cm)
- A steel book case

Conclusion
The Star Wars: Republic Commando Collector’s Edition on the Switch is another awesome set from Limited Run Games. The quality is there with all of the extra goodies which are a really nice addition for any Star Wars and/or Nintendo fans. While you CAN get the game in physical form elsewhere now (thanks to the THQ Nordic published Racer & Commando set), the extra goodies included here make this set worth it in my opinion.
