Super Nodage WORLD, the follow up to the hit Super Nodage PARTY, has been raking in the cash via crowdfunding in Japan. In the first two days since opening to the public on August 19, the team hit their goal of ¥13,573,000 (roughly $123,000 USD) and now have their sights set on their top stretch goal of ¥30,000,000 ($272,000 USD). Several perks for backers are available, including things like having your name in the credits, actively helping create games/art/music for the game, or even meeting up with director/comdeian Hikaru “Crystal” Noda himself via online meetings to assist in game development. Funding perks/tiers start at ¥1,000 and go all the way up to ¥5,000,000 (for creating an online game with Noda himself).
The final package of Super Nodage WORLD is set to release in 2022 on the Switch and will include online versions of popular mini-games from PARTY and new mini-games as well. While not specifically stated, it seems possible that Super Nodage WORLD may receive a worldwide release based on the reveal trailer. In the trailer featuring the mini-game Tsurikawa, a game where players have to keep a character on their feet for as long as they can on a moving train, the camera zooms out to reveal players from all around the globe participating.
Super Nodage PARTY is a wacky party game that released in late April 2021 on the Nintendo Switch. Priced at ¥1,000 ($9 USD), the game was the second best selling digital game and also came in the top 30 selling games on the eShop in Japan for the first half of 2021. Nodage PARTY beat out games such as Game Builder Garage and Miitopia. Miitopia was confirmed to have sold roughly 260,000 units in Japan.
