May 22 marks Pac-Man’s 41st anniversary and a variety of new apparel and initiatives are being ran in honor of the gaming icon. Using the moniker “Be Pac-Tive,” Bandai Namco is promoting both physical and mental healthy lifestyles.
In terms of merchandise, Bandai Namco will start selling “Pac-Tive” related apparel online. Amazon Japan already has a robust lineup of Pac-Man and other Bandai Namco related IP t-shirts and hoodies on sale right now. Prices range from ¥2,200 and up. You can find the entire lineup here. It looks like items cannot be shipped internationally.
Bandai Namco has also announced a collaboration between the NBA and Pac-Man. Originally revealed in December 2020, things are set to kick off this month offering a mobile application called “NBA Playoffs Adventure” which features the 20 NBA playoff teams. A number of NBA and Pac-Man merchandise will also be available soon.
A variety of Pac-Man figures and keychains are also set to go on sale soon. Starting on May 22, a Pac-Man figure from S.H.Figuarts is currently selling for ¥2,420 with other figures, plushies and keychains becoming available over the summer.
Additionally, for fans of classic games and AU mobile users in Japan, Bandai Namco classic titles will be available for free from May 21 until May 31. Titles include the likes of Pac-Man, Galaga, Dig Dug and more.
