Nippon Professional Baseball teamed up with Konami Digital Entertainment in Japan for a special Momotarō Dentetsu event in Yokohama. The event was held on May 1 with the Yokohama DeNA BayStars hosting the Tokyo Yakult Swallows at Yokohama Stadium. Japanese idol Mirei Suganami threw out the opening pitch decked out in a “Momotetsu” jersey. Those in attendance could receive a special Momotarō Dentetsu uchiwa, or Japanese hand fan. The BayStars bested the Swallows 10-2.
Momotarō Dentetsu Showa Heisei Reiwa mo Teiban was released on November 19, 2020 on the Switch and at the moment remains a Japan exclusive. The game has sold over two million copies in Japan and just recently received a free content update. For those of you looking to get your NPB fix on the Switch, Konami recently released a free update to last years Power Pro Baseball 2020.
