Ty's Ranma Battle Featured on 4gamer!

Evo Japan 2018 has come to a close and the Famicrew definitely had a great time at the event. Tons of gamers from all over the world descended upon Tokyo to participate in tournaments for games like Tekken 7, Street Fighter V Arcade Edition, Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U, Arms and more. While these main tournaments are the bread and butter of the event, Evo has always been host to numerous side tournaments for some obscure titles. This year was no different.

4Gamer, one of the largest comprehensive gaming sites in Japan, did an article covering the Ranma 1/2 Hard Battle (SNES) tournament that went down at Evo Japan this year. As many Famicast faithful know, our very own Ty (aka Catdrugs) took part in the tournament and progressed further than any foreigner ever has (kind of by default!). Fifty people participated in the tournament with onlookers huddled around the five CRT television sets at the event cheering on the combatants.

While Ty didn't go home with the gold, he is currently ranked fourth best in the world at the game - impressive, no doubt! In regards to our very own Catdrugs, 4Gamer had this to say:

"Particularly impressive were several of the players from overseas that were involved (in the tournament). Among them was Catdrugs, picking up victories as Mousse, however the tough competition from the Japanese players got the better of him. In the next competition, we expect that the international Ranma competitors will make further breakthroughs."
